What You’ll Need

Serves 20

  • 1 litre water
  • 500 g sugar
  • 75 cl dark (preferably Trinidad) rum
  • 40 cl lemon or lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon of Angostura

How To Make

Boil water and dissolve the sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Serve hot and sprinkle with nutmeg. Originally a red hot poker was plunged into punch before serving – mainly for effect.
